Email us a 1-3 page narrative about your coming out story or personal queer experience, preferably in first person (but we’re flexible!). The stories will be edited for grammar and flow but kept true to the original voice. Even if you don’t think you have a “good enough” story, we encourage you to submit. A story doesn’t have to be full of twists and turns to be intriguing. We’re interested in your narrative – the thoughts, reflections, events and realizations that helped shape your unique experience and the person you are today.
Because there are no set rules or restrictions regarding content, we urge you to be original! Don’t be afraid to send us something experimental; the more creative, the better. We aim specifically to create a broad narrative spectrum that emphasizes diversity and keeps readers intrigued, so we’re always on the lookout for the new and different.
Keep in mind, you do NOT have to identify as a lesbian to submit! Queer, questioning, bi/pansexual and other perspectives are equally welcome and encouraged.
You must also sign and return a copy of the story waiver, with which you have two options:
a) print and fill out the form, then scan and send us a .pdf, or
b) fill it out in a Word document and attach it to an email from your personal address stating to what extent you allow us to share your information (e.g. name, name and picture, or anonymous), in lieu of a physical signature.
Please send all materials to firstname.lastname@example.org.
